EMU Board of Trustees shall have six seven Standing Committees:

    • Academic Excellence
    • AcademicsAudit
    • Advancement
    • Enrollment
    • Faith & Student Life
    • Finance
    • SeminaryExecutive
    • Institutional Resources and Sustainability
    • Student Success and Campus Vitality
    • Strategic Positioning and Growth
    • Trustee
  1. The Board of Trustees shall appoint at least four trustees to each Standing Committee.
  2. Each Standing Committee shall be chaired by a trustee, elected by the board and supported in this role by EMU staff, as appropriate.
  3. The staff administrator responsible for a division shall serve as secretary for their respective Trustee Standing Committee.
  4. The staff administrator, in consultation with the chairperson of the Standing Committee, is expected to prepare the agenda. Additional meetings of the respective Trustee Standing Committee may be held to address a specific need or concern.
  5. All actions of the Trustee Standing Committees become recommendations to the full Board of Trustees.
  6. Minutes of all Trustee Standing Committees will be distributed at the board meeting and the secretary will ensure that members not in attendance have access to the minutes electronically or hard copy.
  7. Trustee Standing Committees are expected to meet three times a year, in connection with meetings of the Board of Trustees. Additional meetings may be called as needed.
