Admission Requirement: This minor does not have an admissions requirement. However, completion of the minor requires successful admission to and completion of a semester with the Washington Community Scholars' Center (emu.edu/wcsc/) in Washington, DC.

The minor in Community Organizing and Development orients students to basic theories, strategies, and spheres of practice in community organizing and community development and culminates in an internship at an organization in or around DC through the Washington Community Scholars’ Center. Students with interests in community-based work, social and racial justice, activism, and/or a career in the nonprofit and social services sector will benefit from this minor.
