The performance of students on academic probation will be reviewed by the director in consultation with faculty. The student may be denied continued enrollment or given conditional enrollment for the second semester. Within one calendar week following the review of a student’s academic program, the Director of Aviation will inform the student of any resulting action. Students may appeal all actions of the academic review process.
ATTENDANCE
If a student is unable to attend a class for health or other legitimate emergency reasons, the instructor may grant permission to attend via electronic means, or she/he may grant permission to accomplish course tasks through asynchronous assignments. Such arrangements shall be requested by the affected student, and must be approved by the instructor, as far in advance of the scheduled class day/time as possible.
Failure to achieve prior approval shall result in a non-attendance being classified as an absence. If a student is absent for three consecutive sessions in face-to-face and/or online classes and is unresponsive to communication from the Undergraduate Program Assistant, he or she may be administratively withdrawn from the LOMV programthe LOM program.
Vacation Planning: Students in the Aviation program are expected to attend classes year round. This means that students should remain mindful of the attendance policy, especially when planning for vacation. If an unavoidable scheduling conflict arises, students must notify their instructor at least 30 days prior to the scheduled event. It will remain up to the instructor to decide whether or not the student may attend class via electronic means, or if it is appropriate to assign additional asynchronous course work. Failure to achieve instructor approval shall result in non-attendance being classified as an absence.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
Inclement weather policy for classes at the EMU Lancaster campus may be found in the Student Handbook. Decisions about flight training during inclement weather shall be made by consensus between the student and his/her Aero-Tech Services Flight Instructor.

ACADEMIC HONORS
LOMV graduates are eligible for academic honors if they have earned a career grade point average of 3.60 or above, and since matriculation in LOMV have received no D or F grades at EMU or elsewhere. The career grade point average includes grades from all course work transferred to EMU.
