COUN 699 Topics Sec. A - Neurobiology of Trauma (1 SH)
This course will provide a foundational understanding of the neurobiology of the human stress response and will explore neuroscience as it applies to psychosocial stress, resilience, and the cultivation of well-being. Various heuristics of the brain and central nervous system will be presented. The course will present the frame of Interpersonal Neurobiology as an integrative method of applying neurobiological principles in the field.

COUN 699 Topics Sec. A - Innovations in Counseling (1 SH)

Innovations in Counseling offers students a brief introduction to cutting edge therapeutic modalities that may include but are not limited to such therapies as EMDR, Focusing, ACT, Hakomi, and EFT. Through a series of guest speakers, who are trained and practice these various modes of therapy, students will explore how they might integrate these ways of working with their clients into their clinical work after further training.
