A workshop on the craft of fiction-writing in the short story form. The course focuses in writing process and revision; explores varieties of characterization, setting, plot and structure, point of view, voice, theme, and figurative language. Reading assignments, writing exercises, and extensive short story workshops culminate in polished prose that may be appropriate for publication or graduate school application. Prerequisite: WRIT 130 or WRIT 140. Open to sophomores and above. (Spring 20222024)
