D. Medical Attention (For Employee_Student Injuries see Appendix B (2))

In the event an employee or student sustains an injury, it is the responsibility of the person in charge to pursue medical care.  The gravity of the situation will dictate the type of care that should be pursued:

  1. For life threatening injuries, call 9-911 and EMU Health Services (ext. 4308).
  2. For less serious injuries requiring non-emergency medical attention, first call EMU Health Services for guidance. Employees must also contact EMU Human Resources (ext. 4049) for a service request at Sentara RMH Occupational Health. See Appendix B Part C for details.
  3. For minor cuts or bruises the employee or student should seek first aid, and if needed, go to EMU Health Services.
