Chromebooks come in a portal form factor similar to a laptop. They use less power which results in longer battery life. Chromebooks run Chrome OS, this gives users access to anything that is available via a web browser.
Desktops
Mac
Mac Minis are provided at no charge to faculty and staff who choose to use a Mac. If an iMac is desired, IS will fund $800 and the department will fund the remaining amount. Applecare is purchased for all iMacs.
Windows
Dell desktops are provided at no charge to faculty and staff.
Laptops
A capital request must be completed for all laptop purchases.
Mac
Faculty and staff who choose to use a Mac laptop can select from any current models. AppleCare is purchased for all laptops. IS will fund $800 and the department will fund the remaining amount.
Windows
Faculty and staff who choose to use a Windows laptop can select from two Latitude models. Complete care is purchased for all laptops. IS will fund $800 and the department will fund the remaining amount.
