  • Go to vpn-new.emu.edu and login with your EMU credentials.
  • Click on Download FortiClient and select the Windows version.
  • The client will download in your browser. 

    Install the VPN Client

    • Download FortiClient for via this link.
    • Once download has completed install the FortiClient

    • Client. If you get a message that reads "Windows protected your PC", click "More info", and then "Run anyway"

    • Open FortiClient
    VPN Check the checkbox
    • and click
    “I accept”
  • In the next screen click on “Configure VPN”
  • Enter the following information to configure the VPN settings
  • Enter you EMU username and password and click “Connect”.
    • on "Remote Access" from the menu to the left.

    • Click on "SAML Login" and authenticate with your EMU email address and password.

    Accessing files over VPN

    EMU-owned computers running Windows

    should automatically map the network drives that you have access to. For access

    may remember your network drives from a previous connection after connecting to the VPN.  If you are missing network drives, follow the instructions below to map them. Accessing network drives from a non-EMU owned computer

    1. Download the Windows drive mapping script.
    2. Double click the script to run it.
    3. Enter your Royal username and password, click "ok". When

    1.  the password prompt disappears your network drives will be available.

    Troubleshooting

    If you cannot connect to the VPN there are several things you can check.

    • If the Zero Trust Telemetry tab looks like the image below then enter forticlient-ems.emu.edu in to the box that says "IP Address" and then click the Connect button.  Wait for the page to update before trying to connect to the VPN.

    • If the Forticlient VPN has a red shield icon then you need to update the VPN using the "Install the VPN Client" instructions on this page.


    • If you are entering a username and password in a box to connect then there are two potential issues:
      • Your computer is not connected to the the VPN server on the Zero Trust Telemetry tab.
      • You need to update your version of the VPN client
