ENGL 355 Young Adult Literature (3 SH)

This course concentrates on literature written for and by young adult (YA) readers. While relying on works typically classified as young adult literature, the course will also look at literary "classics" found within the curriculum for middle, junior, and senior high classrooms. Students will explore YA literature in different genres addressing current issues for young adults. Models of literary criticism employed within the study of these works will center on reader-response theory. (Fall 2022)
