SPAN 330 Immigration Issues (3 SH)
This course combines experiential community learning in the local Latino community with in-depth research and reflection on local, national and global immigration/migration issues. Community-learning combines academic study with concrete service to the community. It engages students in understanding the community in which they work, requires thoughtful reflection on their experiences, and stimulates critical thinking and academic research. Class discussions will focus on readings, documentary films, personal immigrant stories, student service experiences, etc. (Spring 2024)Ā Note: Spanish is the primary language of instruction for all courses in the 300- and 400- levels.
