Independence Day
When holidays fall on Saturday or Sunday, they will be observed on the previous Friday or the following Monday. To determine which day is designated as the holiday, refer to the EMU activity calendar.

Staff members who are less than 1 FTE (12 months or 2080 hours) receive holiday pay on a prorated basis. For example, if the employee is .75 FTE, they receive 6 hours per paid holiday or 84 hours per year. Part time employees (employed less than .75 FTE) and temporary employees are not entitled to holiday pay.When holidays fall on Saturday or Sunday, they will be observed on the previous Friday or the following Monday. Vacation
Vacations are intended for the welfare of the employee by providing rest, relaxation and recreation. This enables the employee to continue service at EMU with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
