Practicum students are expected to adhere to these roles and responsibilities:
- Work the hours agreed upon at the agency.
- The student agrees to be professional in the agency setting at all times.
- Have daily informal supervision and weekly formal supervision at the agency.
- The student operates as a team player closely leaning on agency supervision.
- The student remains a curious learner both personally and professionally freely asking questions with the goal to gain insight and grow.
- The student completes all required paperwork in the agency setting and for the seminar class in a professional, thorough and timely manner.
- Attend the weekly EMU seminar class.
- The student works from a "best practice" standard following the NASW Code of Ethics.
- Demonstrate professional growth in social work competencies and practice skills.
- Cultivate self-care rituals and routines to prevent compassion fatigue
