Purpose

Provides direction for academic vision, strategy, and policy formation, as well as coordinating these efforts across the academic programs of the University

The Provost’s Council is responsible for planning, oversight, and assessment of the entire student experience at EMU, focusing primarily on academic and co-curricular activities to ensure sustainable student success. It provides direction for academic and student life vision, strategy, and policy formation, as well as coordinating these efforts across the divisions and programs of the university.

Decisions

Council administrators represent the various divisions and programs. Selected issues are processed with schools, programs and faculties. Selected items are approved by the faculty and the president's cabinet.

Membership

provost, academic deans, dean of students, associate provost at Lancaster, vp for institutional effectiveness, executive director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, (vp for finance and president by invitation)

Administrators report to their respective unit personnel as appropriate
