B. Labels and Labeling
- Chemicals should be stored in the manufacturer's container and labels should not be removed or defaced.
- It is the responsibility of the laboratory professor/instructor to ensure that all secondary chemical containers are labeled correctly, i.e. chemical name, signal word, hazardous class, and date.
- Chemical containers that will be used within one day and by the same person are exempt from the above requirement.
- Hazardous waste containers are to be labeled accordingly. See Appendix F.
