Intellectual Life Committee

Purpose

In support of EMU’s core value of Academic Excellence, The Intellectual Life Committee plans and initiates University-wide and interdisciplinary conversation and programming such as Common Read and the Academic & Creative Excellence (ACE) festival.

Membership

provost (ex officio), Academic & Creative Excellence (ACE) chair/co-chair, faculty representative from each division, student life representative, library representative, executive assistant to the provost, student representative from SGA

Faculty representatives serve two -year terms

Chair

Provost and Academic & Creative Excellence (ACE) chair

Chair/Co-Chairs:
Appointed by the Provost for a two year term

Reporting

Annual ACE/ILC report to Provost Council, Provost or appropriate body.

Meetings

Meet at least once a month during each semester of the regular academic year
